We had a ball, an Edward Ball

Sarah and I explored the Edward Ball Nature Trail on the UWF campus today...
...where we pondered...
...may have been attacked by a monster that makes people look neckless...
...and fed turtles.
See the rest of our adventure on flickr.

FL Archaeology Month Kick-Off

Saturday was the big (okay little) Florida Archaeology Month kick-off. I helped kick things off by killing a fake deer with an atlatl (an ancient hunting weapon).
And then I gazed upon this sculpture. For more archaeology month events, visit http://www.flpublicarchaeology.org/nwrc/news/.

I want to believe...

Spotted this awesome billboard while driving down Hwy 90 in Milton. Unfamiliar with Gulf Breeze's UFO history? Click here.

Earnestly...

Ernest Hemingway and I share a good laugh over the story of Hemingway’s restaurant trying to arrest me because of something their manager screwed up. That restaurant is rumored to be closing now. Ernest said “You can wipe out your opponents. But if you do it unjustly you become eligible for being wiped out yourself.” Interesting.

Happy New Year!

I attended the first ever New Years Pelican Drop in Downtown Pensacola this year with a few lovely ladies. Check out the 1,000 pound, 13-feet-tall, 17-feet-wide Pelican.
Later, the lovely ladies and I ran into a couple familiar gentlemen. Left to Right: JP, Sarah, Jen, Nick, Brittney, Noel.
(Guest Photographer: JP with Brittney’s camera)

Even later, the Pelican made a shaky descent into 2009. Cue fireworks. (Guest Photographer: Brittney)

ExquisiCat

My kitteh likes Douglas Adams and Vera Bradley.

Presents!

I wrapped presents as animals this Christmas.
Pip approves.

Amaz-za-zing

The fam and I spotted this fiery sunset on the way home from a funeral.
And I spotted these angry clouds on the way home from work.

Dance kitteh, dance

Calling All Asses

UWF has a new spot for you to hang with those of your kind.

Acorn-a-topia

Whilst on an afternoon stroll, Sarah and I happened upon a crazy lot of acorns.
I swear I’ve never seen so many acorns in one spot before.
And this little gem was amongst them.

Nani?

Check out this fun site where you can download, print, cut and play with Nani Birds: http://www.nanibird.com/. Nani is the Japanese word for “what” and the birds are from paintings by artist Josh McKible (and others who submitted designs to him).
